CEWEP is the European representation of 200 municipal waste incineration
plants in 13 countries, with an annual capacity of 30 million tonnes.
These Waste-to-Energy plants treat waste in an environmentally sound
way and produce energy from it, which they deliver to citizens and
to industry.
Waste-to-Energy Plants replace the energy produced by conventional
power plants, using fossil fuels. This is how they contribute to
the reduction of CO2 emissions and to climate protection.
Members of CEWEP have committed themselves to ensuring high environmental
standards, achieving low emissions and maintaining state of the
art energy production from otherwise unusable materials.
